Mental Health Occupational Therapy

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational therapy is used to increase independence, functioning and autonomy in a person’s life. Occupational therapists use assessments and practical interventions to help people achieve their goals and improve functioning in areas they may have previously struggled. The term ‘occupation’ isn’t just used for working, it includes things such as domestic activities, personal care, community engagement or anything that is meaningful to the individual. Occupational therapists also place heavy emphasis on a person’s environment and help address concerns or issues. Still have questions? Click the button below for an FAQ on our MH OT service

Occupational Therapist - Josh Dredge

My name is Joshua Dredge and I am a mental health occupational therapist. I have extensive experience working in the sector as a mental health case manager as well as in management, creating and implementing NDIS mental health services. I have a keen interest in physical health and hold the correlation between mental health and physical health very closely in the work that I do with participants. I work in a very collaborative way with participants to help identify goals that are meaningful to them and take a practical approach to the work that I do. I am extremely passionate about working with people with mental ill-health and take great pride in helping people improve their independence and functioning.

Outside of work, I am a soccer player and gym enthusiast and enjoy all things popular culture.
